Chase Purdy was born in Tuscaloosa, Ala and began racing at the age of nine. A proven winner in go-karts, he began racing Bandolero race cars at 12 before advancing to the highly-competitive U.S. Legends Cars division at the age of 15.
In 2015, Purdy won the U.S. Legends Young Lion National Championship. In 2016, he finished 2nd in the Pro Division at the U.S. Legends Cars Bojangles Summer Shootout at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway. That success propelled him to the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. In 21 late model starts, he scored a very impressive 10 wins and 20 top-10 finishes.
In 2017 he drove the No. 17 BAMA Buggies Toyota Camry in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) for David Gilliland Racing, owned by former Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series star David Gilliland. He scored eight top-10 finishes, five top-five finishes, and four poles propelling him to the NKNPSE Rookie-of-the-Year and 4th in NKNPSE points. He also made three ARCA Racing Series (ARS) starts, scoring two top-10 finishes.
In 2018, Purdy will pilot the No. 8 BAMA Buggies Toyota Camry for MDM Motorsports in the ARS.
Purdy is a NASCAR NEXT member. NASCAR NEXT is program developed by NASCAR to highlight the next generation of NASCAR superstars. He currently lives in Huntersville, N.C. and enjoys the outdoors, hunting, and of course racing.
