MDM Motorsports and NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Rookie Anthony Alfredo will be in the field when the best drivers from the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and Pro Series West collide for the 16th time in the nation’s heartland at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa this Friday, July 27.
Alfredo will be behind the wheel of the #40 Ceco Building Systems, Oxford Energy, Meccanic Shop, MDM Motorsports Toyota for the Casey’s General Store 150, a race that brings both of NASCAR’s regional K&N Pro Series together in an East vs West showdown.
A student at UNC-Charlotte, the easygoing Alfredo is anxious to hit the track in Iowa following his third-place finish in last weekend’s race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
“After last week, I’m really looking forward to the chance to keep the momentum rolling,” he said. “I am very excited to race at Iowa Speedway for the first time. We’ve been fast on the bigger tracks.
From watching races on television, Iowa seems to always provide a fantastic show for the fans and a very exciting race for the drivers as well. It is also a combo even between the K&N East and West Series’, so I am confident there will be a strong field of competitive cars.
Alfredo says he believes experience has been key for him this year and that progress has been made each time out in the car. “I feel like I’ve gotten better and that has helped us to make our cars better on race weekends. We were really fast at the end of the Loudon race last week, so I am excited to go after our second win of the season for everyone who helps me turn my dream into reality.”
The Casey’s General Store 150 is scheduled for a 7:30 PM start this Friday, June 27 at Iowa. Tape- delayed coverage will take place on NBC Sports Network Thursday, August 2 at 6 pm Eastern
